Grammy-winner Ralph Stanley, a patriarch of Americana Music and one of the stars of the O Brother, Where Art Thou? soundtrack releases a new collection of hymns and spirituals entitled 'A Mother�s Prayer'For well over a decade now, Dr. Ralph Stanley has been an iconic figure in American music. With generous touches of old-time, gospel and what is now termed �bluegrass music,� Ralph has successfully created his unique brand of Americana, a sound he simply calls �Old-Time Mountain Music.� Determined to find songs that rang true to him emotionally, Ralph searched through the stark ballads of his youth as well as newer compositions written in the ancient, adorned Stanley-style to come up with the material featured on 'A Mother�s Praye'r. Some of his choices he renders a cappella; in others, he is backed by his Grammy-winning band The Clinch Mountain Boys. This is yet another masterful addition to an already impressive recording career spanning over 60 years!
