Road Goes On Forever Records are proud to work with Steve Gibbons in a relationship which began in 1997 and now includes four double albums and five single albums by either Steve as a solo artist, the Steve Gibbons Band or The Dylan Project (a band established by Steve, P.J.Wright and the Fairport Convention trio of Dave Pegg, Simon Nicol and Gerry Conway to perform the songs of Bob Dylan). This album, 'Birmingham To Memphis' has almost certainly been unavailable for most of the 21st Century. It was originally commissioned and released in 1993 by Linn Records, an arm of the celebrated hi-fi company which designs and distributes top of the range sound systems after the Steve Gibbons Band performed at a Linn Records sales convention to great acclaim. The Steve Gibbons Band line-up for this album featured Steve (lead vocals, guitar, harmonica), P.J.Wright (guitar, vocals), Bob Wilson (guitar), Brian Badhams (bass guitar, vocals) and Brendan Day (drums), and the six bonus tracks include contributions from, among others, world famous guitarist Albert Lee, two Dave Edmunds associates in Geraint Watkins (keyboards) and Billy Bremner (guitar) and drummer Alan Sticky Wicket This reissue includes the 13 tracks on the original Linn Records release plus six bonus tracks. While nine of the 19 tracks on the album were written by Steve Gibbons, other songwriters represented here include Bob Dylan, Chuck Berry, Buddy Holly, Eddie Cochran, Sonny Curtis, Steve Earle and Carl Perkins.
