Sha's Feckel - Greatest Hits

Formed in 2011, Sha's Feckel is an off-shoot of the acclaimed ECM Records outfit, Nik B�rtsch's Ronin led by their reeds player Sha. For this intriguing blend of powerfully hard-hitting jazz-flavoured rock, Ronin members saxophonist Sha and drummer Kaspar Rast are joined by guitarist Urs M�ller and bassist Lionel Gafner. The album comes packaged in a simple 'slip-sleeve' which is reflected in its price. Sha's Feckel's ironically titled debut album 'Greatest Hits' was recorded live at Zurich's hip club Kaufleuten. In addition to two reinterpretations of songs from the English alternative-prog-rock band Oceansize, 'Greatest Hits' features new material from Sha in the form of two heavy and radically raw tracks. Although minimalist structures and ambient episodes are still ever-present, the music is clearly invigorated by the sonorities and energies of prog-rock and its stylistic relatives.
