Original LP from 1979, dusted off and presented for new audience to enjoy. The Kit-Cat band was the house band of the Kit-Cat night club in London that opened his doors in 1924. The ten-piece band was assembled by Jack Hylton, Britain's best known bandleader at the time and was directed by of Al Starita, a saxophonist from Boston.Producer Chris Ellis recently rediscovered the Kit-Cat LP that he produced in 1979. On hearing it again he felt that it was worthy of being dusted off and re-presented. Ellis has kept the original notes by the late, great Brian Rust. The Kit-Cat programme, illustrated on the front of this cd, was given to Ellis by his dear friend Margret, Duchess of Argyll.
