In summer 2001, Arlene Grocery, a music venue in Manhattan's Lower East Side, hosted a series of concerts by relatively unknown acts performing 'classic' albums, in their entirety, originally recorded by older, established stars. Mary Lee Kortes and group were invited to tackle Bob Dylan's 1975 divorce epic, BLOOD ON THE TRACKS. Initially she jumped at the chance, then nearly chickened out at the 11th hour but finally went ahead with it. Fortunately for her the gig was informally recorded and salvaged for release in 2002, gaining astonished, 'can't believe how good this is' reviews from the likes of Rolling Stone, Mojo, Uncut and Record Collector, along the way putting Mary Lee's Corvette firmly in the frame.
