Kirk Knuffke - Chorale

Trumpeter/cornetist Kirk Knuffke has filled 'Chorale' entirely with his own original compositions to showcase his unique compositional talent. He is joined by an impressive quartet made up of pianist Russ Lossing, bassist Michael Formanek and Billy Hart on drums.

Kirk Knuffke has developed a formidable discography on SteepleChase label with three duo recordings with pianist Jesse Stacken, each of which is a tribute to jazz's great composers, and one quartet collaboration with veteran saxophonist Ted Brown. He has also made recordings and played gigs with groups featuring, among others, Roswell Rudd, William Parker, John Tchicia, Vijay Iyer, Jim Black, Tim Berne, Daniel Carter and John Zorn.
