Harold Danko - Lost in the Breeze

A good part of pianist/composer/educator Harold Danko's strength lies in his creative intelligence in composition of originals as well as in recasting or reinventing the existing melodies like in this release.He trio is made up of bassist Jay Anderson and drummer Jeff Hirshfield, and they perform eight original compositions plus two Duke Jordan tunes, Paula and If I Did - Would You?, which Duke performed on his classic 1974 SteepleChase album 'Flight to Denmark'. Danko's approach is one of subtlety and sophistication, not of pyrotechnics (though his technical facility is formidable).
