Born in Holloway, London of Welsh parents, Dai Jones moved to Ceredigion when he was three years old. This was during the Second World War and he and his parents settled in Llangwyryfon. Dai is now a long-established Cardi, and his name will forever be linked to the village of Llanilar, where he farms with his wife Olwen and son John Ifor. This compilation of his finest recordings will be a lasting tribute to his other great talent, as a singer. The tracks are taken from original recordings on Cambrian and Sain labels, apart from two tracks that are private recordings from Dai Jones' personal collection. Lle Treigla'r Caferi was recorded at the home of the accompanist, Eiluned Douglas-Williams, when Dai and Richard Rees were rehearsing for the 1972 St David's Day concert at the Royal Albert Hall. Sara was recorded at Liverpool's Philharmonic Hall and Dai is accompanied by the Rhos Male choir, conducted by Colin Jones. Other songs include Welsh versions of Rose Of Tralee, Bless This House and O! Danny Boy, as well as classics such as Myfanwy, Arafa Don, Alwen Hoff and Macushla.
