Gene Austin was the most popular singer in the Western world in the 1920s and these re-recordings in stereo of his hits are appearing on CD for the first time. They include My Blue Heaven, Bye Bye Blackbird, Ramona, Lonesome Road, Girl of My Dreams, Weary River and Sleepy Time Gal.

In particular My Blue Heaven was number one in the US chart for a remarkable 13 weeks selling over 5 million copies and has become a popular standard. Austin also made movies and was the first singer to make a name for himself on record with a career spanning five decades. Many of his other recordings have also become standards including I Can't Give You Anything But Love, My Melancholy Baby and Bye Bye Blackbird, all included here.
