Karan Casey - Distant Shore

Karan Casey's career took a sharp upward turn with the success Solas had as a band and they recorded three album together in four years winning NAIRD awards for evey one of them. In 1997 her career really broke with the release of her first solo album on Shanachie Songlines. This enabled her to establish herself firmly as an artist in her own right and she broke from Solas. Her next album was the award winning The Winds Begin To Sing where she was joined by such luminaries as producer Donald Shaw, Michael McGoldrick, Dezi Donnally, John Doyle and Ted Barnes. This tradition follows through on the new album with Tim O'Brien amongst others coming into the fold.
