Stix Hooper - Mainstream Straight-Ahead

Stix Hooper - drummer, percussionist, producer, composer and co-founder of The Crusaders - enters another phase in his multi-faceted career with a recording of tunes based on rivers, lakes and oceans - inspired by his love of fishing. It's as rich and varied as the waters of the world, and the treasures they hold. 'Mainstream Straight-Ahead' is one of several releases from his label, Stix Hooper Enterprises, which are being released in the UK for the first time.

As well as being one of the founders of The Crusaders and playing an important role in the creation of jazz-funk Stix Hooper has performed, collaborated, composed with and produced for a wide range of music greats, including, B.B. King, Grover Washington, Jr., Quincy Jones, Marvin Gaye, The Rolling Stones and many more.
