Mehnaz Begum is one of the leading singers in Pakistan. Trained in semi-classical music by her mother, Kajjan Begum, she learnt the nuances of singing from Ustad Ghulam Qadir, the elder brother of Mehdi Hassan and also from Ustad Nazar Hussain. Starting her career as a radio singer, her talent was spotted by the film world and she has since recorded many songs for films, leading to her immense popularity.
