Growing out of the R&B boom of the early 60s, Family's sound evolved into a unique mix of blues, folk, jazz, psychedelia and high energy rock'n'roll built around the distinctive vocals of frontman Roger Chapman, Charlie Whitney's innovative guitar playing, and Rob Townsend's thunderous drumming.

'Bandstand' is the band's best known and most loved album. Moving towards a harder sound, yet still retaining some of the art-rock tendencies that made the band so unique. Containing the hit 'Burlesque' and the evocative 'My Friend The Sun', 'Bandstand' was the last album to feature John Wetton prior to his departure to King Crimson.

This mid-price CD edition of 'Bandstand' is packaged in a digipack complete with a 4-page booklet plus four bonus demo tracks, celebrating 50 years since the release of Family's debut studio album, 'Music in a Doll's House'.
