'Epitaph for a Legend' is label owner Lelan Rogers's legendary compilation of alternate takes, demos, rehearsals and rare tracks from the vaults of International Artists Records, the Texas indie label founded in 1965 .IA is best known for the 13th Floor Elevators' hit singles and seminal albums but the label also released a series of groundbreaking records from acts such as The Red Crayola, Lost & Found and The Golden Dawn and from local blues artists. Epitaph For A Legend is a collection of rarities from the label's catalogue that Rogers (brother of country artist Kenny Rogers) compiled in 1980 for a double vinyl release. This deluxe reissue of the album comes packaged in a double media book with 40 page booklet with extensive liner notes from The Mole (Shindig). It also features an introduction by Jon Savage (Mojo) along with his interview with Lelan Rogers for the original vinyl release.
