The debut album of a young singer-songwriter with impeccable credentials. Rosie Doonan's debut solo release contains eleven self-written songs, performed both solo and with her band. The style is contemporary but underpinned by a folk roots sensibility inherited from her grandfather, legendary Irish piccolo player John Doonan, and father Mick Doonan, member of Hedgehog Pie and The Doonan Family Band and folk scene stalwart since the 1970s.Rosie is fresh from a three-year musical partnership with Ben Murray (ex Tarras) during which time they produced 'Mill Hill', an album of new songs and traditional classics, and were nominated for a BBC Radio 2 Folk Award. Now she moves into her own territory with a collection of songs showing her versatility as a songwriter, arranger and instrumentalist, and her true, clear voice installing her among contemporaries such as Nerina Pallot, Kate Walsh and KT Tunstall.Tracks: I Need You Around / Time / That Boy / Moving On / Little Boat / The Girl I Used To Be / Only One / This Love / A Journey / Outside In.
