A series from Snapper of budget-priced albums from classic Rock'n'Roll stars.Striking artwork, comprehensive sleeve notes and original recordings.28 original rockin' cuts from the guitar pickin' Bob Luman including, 'All Night Long', 'Try Me', 'Red Cadillac And A Black Moustache' and 'Let's Think About Living' Although he is chiefly remembered nowadays for either his 1960 crossover hit 'Let's Think About Living', or his subsequent late 60s/early 70s mainstream Country hits, Bob Luman never forgot his Rockabilly roots. Indeed, he was something of a reluctant C&W star, frequently at odds with both his management and Country fans, as he doggedly continued to include R'n'R and Rockabilly material in his stage repertoire and on his albums, throughout his career. Luman died in December 1978, aged just 41. Had he lived long enough to participate in the late 70s/early 80s Rockabilly revival, who knows what direction his career might ultimately have taken. This compilation features the three hard-edged Rockabilly singles he recorded for Imperial in 1957 (notably 'Red Cadillac & A Black Moustache' and 'Red Hot'); his two similarly-styled Capitol singles, from 1958; his first four Warner Brothers singles, from 1959/60 (including his worldwide hit); and his first Warner Bros LP, Let's Think About Living, in its entirety. Also included are rare alternate versions of a pair of his Imperial sides.Bob Luman remains revered, both in the UK and mainstream Europe, for those early Rockabilly records. A consummate musician as well as a powerful singer, his first band featured James Burton on guitar and was famously commandeered by Ricky Nelson. Burton's replacement was the mercurial Roy Buchanan, another acknowledged master of the Telecaster. Both guitarists are heavily featured on these sides.
