Trio Records presents 'I Wished on the Moon' by American born alto saxophonist Allison Neale. Described by Jazz Review as having a velvet sound, her playing evokes the true spirit of such greats as Paul Desmond and Art Pepper. She is a gifted player with an innate understanding of the music she plays.
Her group is drawn from the best of the London scene's gigging players, including the acclaimed pianist Leon Greening, bassist Julian Bury, and the ever popular Steve Brown. Nat Steel, a naturally swinging talented vibraphone player is added on four tracks. They perform songs by Lennie Tristano, Art Pepper, Jimmy Heath, Marty Paich and Cole Porter, as well as a number of popular standards.
