Ken Colyer Jazzmen - Classics Years Vol 2

This session by one of the most famous of the british trad revival bands was recorded live at the Eel Pie Island Hotel, near Twickenham in Middlesex in 1957. The bands that Colyer led, from the 1950s onwards, became some of the best-loved of all those to emerge from Britain during this time but the lineup captured on this never-before released recording was probably his finest. Featuring the talents of musicians such as Mac Duncan (trombone), Ian Wheeler (clarinet) and Johnny Bastable (banjo) playing a selection of New Orleans style favourites infused with the energy that only comes from a live performance.
