Cedric Moos - Bygone

The second release of the swiss jazz guitarist Cedric Moos is a good follow-up for his debut record -Statement-. The quintet album offers 13 compositions, which were written in late 2016. Also on -Bygone- the sound and ideology of hardbop and bebop remains present. A Penny For Your Thoughts grooves in the style of old Kenny Burrell recordings, while I Cross The Border (If You Do It Too) shows parallels to classical ballads from the bebop era. Line After Line presents bebop-oriented themes � la Charlie Parker and Lee Konitz. Cedric Moos proves his feeling for ballads with tunes like Bygone but also his affinity to Latin jazz with On Sweet Sunny Street. The second album reflects the Cedric Moos Quintet in a well-rehearsed phase. The band played over 20 concerts in Switzerland in the last two years.
