The son of Mohican-German parents, Miller, whose Mohican name is Fush-Ya Heay Aka (meaning bird song), learned to sing traditional songs at an early age. Although he was sidetracked by rock in his teens he eventually returned to his roots inspirations when he moved to Nashville in the 1980s to pursue a career as a singer/songwriter. Playing acoustic guitar and Native American flute and singing with a powerful baritone voice that stretches to howling falsetto, Miller has recorded about 10 highly acclaimed in as many years. This compilation selects from across his releases and includes his best known songs.
