On this album, George views things from multiple perspectives, each with their validity yet each also limited in the view they can afford - observing ourselves from the outside.George views things from multiple perspectives, each with their validity yet each also limited in the view they can afford - observing ourselves from the outside. Goerge Papavgeris fell in love with early music and his first guitar at 14, sang protest songs in Thessaloniki, Greece at the time of the colonels' junta and discovered folk music in Oxford in the 70s. He started to write his own songs about 7 years ago. He is supported on this album by Vicki Swan and Jonny Dyer, very fine performars in their own right, who still humbly take on the role of George's Los Marbles on his albums & some gigs and lug keyboards and double bass around in addition to their usual vanful of guitars, nyckelharpa, accordeon, smallpipes etc. Paul Sartin adds character with fiddle, oboe and Chor Anglais. Pete Flood makes cajon, Iraqi frame-drum and Udu pot speak words. Stuart, Paula, Sarah and Kathryn Tindall, lift the harmonies to soaring heights like colourful, sparkling kites riding the breeze.
