Polly Paulusma - The Small Feat Of My Reverie

In 2004 when Polly Paulusma released her first album 'Scissors In My Pocket' on indie label One Little Indian, Derek Birkett suggested that she create a sister-album, a companion record, containing alternative versions of all the songs on the main album, live versions and different renderings. With this in mind she created 'Cosmic Rosy Spine Kites' (the name is almost an anagram of 'Scissors In My Pocket'.In 2007 Paulusma did the same again, creating an acoustic alterno-version of her very electric main record 'Fingers & Thumbs' - 'Fights & Numbers' is available as a digital download.So in 2012 when Paulusma founded her own label Wild Sound and released 'Leaves From the Family Tree', it crossed her mind that a sister-album was a tradition worth keeping up. In 2014, she got around to releasing one - 'The Small Feat Of My Reverie', funded via generous Pledgers at PledgeMusic and containing not just alterno-versions but some songs written around the time of the album thrown in to boot. 'Small Feat...' is a loving, intimate collection of 16 tracks which shed a new light on the songs on 'Leaves...' and reveal something of Paulusma's writing processes, her shed demos and early recording methods, the way she builds production ideas for tracks from the moment of inception.
