The Ukrainians - A History Of Rock Music

The Ukrainians play classic British and American rock / pop songs with a vodka-fuelled eastern European twist.Included are songs by The Beatles, Beach Boys, Sex Pistols, Led Zeppelin, Kaiser Chiefs, Joy Division, Talking Heads, REM, Motorhead, Green Day, Velvet Underground, Elvis Presley, Nirvana, T. Rex and The Smiths.The Ukrainians produce a sound that is an intoxicating cocktail of traditional Ukrainian music and Western Indie pop/rock � cossack-punk, if you like. The band's performance is raw, fresh and electrifying as mandolins, fiddle and accordion interweave powerfully with full-on drums, driving bass and wonderfully zizzy electric guitars.For Record Store Day 2015 (Saturday 18 April) The Ukrainians release a limited issue vinyl album called A Short History of Rock Music in Ukrainian. It will feature 10 tracks, two of which are exclusive to the vinyl release. A 16-track A Short History of Rock Music in Ukrainian CD album will be released a month later on Monday 11 May 2015.The Ukrainians' cross-category appeal has meant that for 25 years they have wowed audiences at hundreds of festivals throughout Europe and North America, including Glastonbury and Womad in the UK.
